Speech-Language Pathologists work to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat articulation (speech), expressive and receptive language, social communication (play skills), fluency (stuttering), voice, and swallowing.

SPEECH- LANGUAGE SCREENING

A quick test used to screen speech and language skills to determine if further testing is required. 

SPEECH- LANGUAGE ASSESSMENT

A comprehensive measurement of a child's communication ability. An assessment may include a case history and standardized and/or non standardized tests.

SPEECH- LANGUAGE INTERVENTION

Instruction that includes strategies, methods and interventions based on a child's individual speech and language goals. Intervention may be individual, group or classroom based. 

PARENT AND TEACHER TRAINING

A program developed to promote generalization of speech and language skills at home and in the classroom environment.
